Invention—creating wonder in the world

For Season 6 of the Midwest Artist Academy, we’ll explore the theme “Invention.”

How are things made—from conception, to creation, to sharing it with the broader world? This summer, young artists will explore the creative process from spark to final showcase. What role can the arts play in ushering an idea into reality? And how can each of us bring our unique talents into the process of inventing the next great thing?

Throughout the week, participants will investigate their disciplines and collaborations inspired by this theme, culminating in brand new, original works shared during our showcase on July 18, 2026.
