Read on for three quick questions on Kathryn’s growth as a dancer.

1.)    Can you share a story about your early development as an artist? Were there times when you thought you were on the wrong path? How did you motivate yourself to move past it.

Being a professional dancer, especially in New York, could sometimes get me down especially if I didn’t get an audition I really wanted. When things seemed to spiral out of control I tried to regain a bit of that control back by taking sometime for myself whether that was reading a book, writing in my journal, or going to a yoga or meditation class. Usually, by grounding myself I was able to remember why I was doing what I was doing, dancing because it’s my passion.

2.)    How has art shaped you into the person you are today?

Art has shaped me into I am today because from a young age I was exposed to art galleries, musicals, and more. By having this inspirational consistently in my life it allowed my creative side to be fueled into my career. Even to this day I enjoy going to see art whether it be music, pottery, paintings, or readings.

3.)    What's the most important lesson a young artist might learn?

I would say the most important lesson a young artist might learn is that doing what you love in life means never having to work a day in your life and that is a beautiful feeling.
